Girard Park

This 33-acre park near UL Lafayette has a 1.4 mile paved walking track as well as a small paved loop around a pond with ducks. Several benches, restrooms, water fountains, and poop bag stations available. Parking is free.

Thomas Park

300 Geraldine Street, Lafayette, LA


This 18-acre park just off of Johnston Street has a .6 mile paved walking track with large sections in shade. Also includes several mounded hills (inclines) for building back leg strength. There are  picnic benches and poop bag stations available. Parking is free.

Acadiana Park

1005 East Alexander Street, Lafayette, LA


This 117-acre park near downtown has a walking track and nature trail providing various textures (sensory path) for supporting your pet’s brain health. There are restrooms and water fountains available. Limited parking is free at the campground area. Learn more

Beaullieu Park

410 West Bluebird Drive, Lafayette, LA


This 29-acre park near Comeaux High School is easy to access from Camellia Extension. It includes a figure eight walking track in part shade. One loop goes around the pickleball courts, and the other loop around a dog park with a bridge over the coulee. Benches and restrooms available. Parking is free.

ULL Campus

Cypress Lake


The UL campus is walkable and beautiful with sidewalks and many shady streets specifically St. Mary St. headed towards Hebrard Blvd and Cypress Lake. Many seating areas available. Parking on Hebrard Blvd is available for free on weekends. On weeknights, use Park Mobile app to pay for parking. Learn more

Moncus Park

2913 Johnston Street, Lafayette, LA


This 100-acre green space is in the heart of Lafayette. It's a non-profit park conservancy with a playground, amphitheater, nature trails, and restrooms. Shade is available near the oak trees around the Doerle Pavilion as well as in the back of the park for the woodland restoration area. Parking is $2 per hour. Learn more
